Home › Buying Guides & Advice › 5 things to consider when buying a new mattress
It has been suggested that the position you wake up in is a good indicator of what type of sleeper you are. For example, we would suggest a different level of comfort/tension depending on how you sleep so that you will be well-supported.
Whilst you are asleep you want to be supported in the right way, this normally depends on your sleeping position. This is so you get the support and spinal alignment that you need when sleeping and therefore your mattress is less likely to cause you aches and pains.
You should always consider the material of the mattress.
You should consider your temperature at night, are you too hot or too cold? Gel mattresses have a cooling element and many mattresses with wool and cotton allow breathability making the night’s sleep cooler.
For a colder sleeper, who wants to retain their body heat, a memory foam mattress would be suggested as they contour to the body.
An important part of buying a mattress is being able to get in and out of it easily. By checking the height of the mattress and testing it, you can be sure you will be happy with your purchase.
We do offer a Motion Therapy range which is an adjustable bed where the head and foot can be raised to help with posture, sleeping and getting in and out of the bed.
All of our mattresses come with a 30-night trial when you purchase one of our mattress protectors (Sterling, Cotton, Copper Ice or Bamboo). This allows you to trial the mattress and see if it suits you. If during this time you decide you don’t like your purchase you may swap it for a different one. Terms and conditions apply.
We have mattresses in all sizes in stock ready for delivery in as little as 48 hours!
