At Sussex Beds every mattress is rated from 1 to 5 on our Comfort Scale:
1 = Soft/Medium and 5 = Extra Firm.
Each level is designed to suit different sleep styles and preferences — here’s how to find your perfect match!

Soft / Medium (1)

Best for: Side sleepers
Why: A soft mattress gently cushions your shoulders and hips, helping to relieve pressure on your joints. Perfect if you love that plush, sink-in feeling and want a dreamy, cocooned night’s sleep.

Medium (2)

Best for: Side sleepers & restless sleepers

Medium / Firm (3)

Best for: Couples & all-rounders
Why: Can’t agree on firmness? This one’s for you. It keeps your spine in healthy alignment while offering comfort and flexibility. A real “best of both worlds” choice.

Firm (4)

Best for: Back and stomach sleepers
Why: A firmer mattress helps your body stay supported and prevents your hips from sinking too deeply — ideal if you prefer a more stable, less bouncy sleeping surface.

Extra Firm (5)

Best for: Stomach sleepers & those needing extra support
Why: Promotes perfect posture and alignment while offering a solid, no-sink feel. Great if you like a sturdy surface and strong back support.
