Small Double Mattresses - 4ft Mattresses

Our small double mattresses measure 4ft wide, 6ft 3 inches or 120cm by 190cm long and are perfect either for couples that have limited space in their bedroom or for an individual looking for a bit more space than a traditional single mattress offers.

These small double mattresses are 6 inches narrower than a regular double mattress so offer the perfect space saving solution for small bedrooms or guest rooms. Browse our full range of 4 foot mattresses below.

What size is a small double mattress?

Small double mattresses measure 4 feet wide (120cm) and 6 feet 3 inches long (190cm). Although they are 6 inches narrower than a traditional double mattress, they will fit two adults (if you don’t mind snuggling up a bit) and are ideal for bedrooms with limited floor space. They’re also a good choice for any individual who wants a bit more space to sprawl out in bed, or as a teenager’s first double mattress. These 4ft wide mattresses come in a variety of depths and comfort levels. We also offer regular double mattresses where required.

Does a double fitted sheet fit a small double mattress?

While it’s not a problem to use a double fitted sheet on a small double mattress, you may find that due to the difference in dimensions, the double fitted sheet is slightly too big and may bunch up a bit. This is because double fitted sheets are designed to fit 4ft 6in wide mattresses whilst a small double mattress measures 4ft wide. We offer a variety of fitted sheets to fit all mattress sizes, including 4ft small double bed sheets.
