Unlike open coil designs, pocket sprung mattresses feature individual springs housed in their own fabric pockets. This allows each spring to move independently, giving better contouring and support across your body. The result? Less roll-together, more restful sleep.
Our collection includes a wide range of firmness levels, from soft for gentle cushioning, to firm for those who prefer extra support. Many of our pocket sprung mattresses also include natural materials like wool, silk or cotton for a luxurious touch, or memory foam for added comfort.
When choosing a pocket sprung mattress, the spring count is a key indicator of support and comfort. Here’s what the different levels mean:
600–800 Springs
Entry-level support. Ideal for guest beds or light use. Suitable for children, occasional sleepers, or those on a tighter budget.
1000 Springs
Standard support. A popular mid-range option for everyday use. Offers good contouring and comfort for most sleepers.
1200–1500 Springs
Enhanced support. Ideal for couples or those who need extra pressure relief. A good balance between comfort and durability.
2000 Springs
High support level. Provides increased responsiveness and body contouring. Excellent for people with back or joint concerns.
3000+ Springs
Luxury feel. Often found in premium mattresses. These offer exceptional support, reduced partner disturbance, and enhanced breathability.
Note: Spring count is usually based on a king-size mattress. A double will have fewer springs, while a super king will have more, even within the same range.
