What is a natural filling mattress?

Natural filling mattresses are a type of mattress that uses natural resources such as cotton or wool in the padding or filling. Natural filling mattresses are often more breathable than synthetic mattresses as they allow air to circulate, meaning you are less likely to overheat when asleep. Cotton and wool mattresses also have hypoallergenic properties, as they can be much less likely to cause an allergic reaction which is ideal for those suffering with allergies or sensitivities.

How do I care for a natural filling mattress?

Depending on the specific materials used, different natural filled mattresses may require different care. It is important to refer to the manufacturer’s care recommendations and refrain from using abrasive cleaners or chemicals. Certain mattresses with natural filling could also need regular fluffing or shaking to keep their form and support. Make sure to follow our mattress cleaning tips to get the most out of your mattress.

What are the types of natural filling mattresses?

There are several types of natural filling mattresses to suit various sleeping preferences, budget and requirements. A few of the natural filling we stock include:

Cotton-filled mattresses

The main filling for these mattresses is cotton batting, which can provide a plush and comfy sleeping surface.

Wool-filled mattresses

Wool batting is the main filling used in some natural filling mattresses, which can provide a plush and firm sleeping surface. Wool is a great option as it is also naturally hypoallergenic and breathable.

Silk-filled mattresses

Silk-filled mattresses use silk batting as its main filling component. A truly luxurious, soft and velvety sleeping surface is created with sumptuous material.
